Track Coordinator QLD

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and adventurous individual/team to join our team as a Track Coordinator for our QLD events. In this role, you will be responsible for scouting and grading tracks, designing routes, creating roadbooks, and ensuring the overall success of our events in QLD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct track reconnaissance in various locations, grading each track according to difficulty levels for our diverse range of participants.
  • Select and design three distinct tracks (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) ranging from 80-120km each, ensuring variety and excitement for participants.
  • Submit proposed routes for government approval, incorporating necessary changes based on feedback received.
  • Create detailed roadbooks, including hand-written instructions at every turn, to guide participants through the designated tracks.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to digitalise roadbooks
  • Testing roadbooks for accuracy
  • Assist in checking the tracks the day before events, making any necessary adjustments for safety and enjoyment.
  • Be available during events to brief participants on tracks, assist with recovery operations, and address any on-site challenges.
  • Maintain a high level of riding skill, navigating advanced tracks and scouting new areas.
  • Demonstrate empathy in grading tracks, considering the skill levels of beginners and riders on larger bikes.
  • Ensure your motorcycle is in optimal condition for track reconnaissance and other tasks, including the ability to perform basic mechanical repairs if needed.

Requirements

  • Advanced riding skill level, with the ability to ride up advanced tracks and scout new areas.
  • Empathy to grade tracks for participants of varying skill levels and bike sizes.
  • Detail-oriented approach to designing tracks and creating roadbooks.
  • Stamina and endurance to work in extreme conditions, such as heat or cold.
  • Mechanical know-how to perform basic repairs on your motorcycle during tasks.
  • Own a registered motorcycle and possess appropriate insurance.
  • Availability to work on a flat-rate basis per event.
  • Ability to export routes to Google Maps and make necessary adjustments for government approval.
