Event Manager - NSW

Job Description

We are searching for an accomplished and adaptable Event Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the planning and execution of our New South Wales events. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills, excel in a dynamic environment, and have a proven track record in event management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise, plan, and execute events from inception to completion.
  • Develop comprehensive event timelines and logistical plans.
  • Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and venues.
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue setup, catering, audio-visual requirements, and transportation
  • Manage and coordinate event staff and volunteers, ensuring proper training and collaboration.
  • Ensure smooth on-site execution, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, vendors, and government authorities.
  • Address and resolve concerns from participants, sponsors, and team members.
  • Collaborate with government agencies to obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and develop effective contingency plans.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and legal standards throughout the event.
  • Conduct thorough post-event evaluations to assess success and gather valuable feedback.
  • Analyze data to continually improve future events and enhance participant experience.

Contractual details

  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing events across varying scales.
  • Experience managing logistics, teams, and government relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented approach to event planning and execution.
  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate unforeseen challenges.
  • Innovative thinking and creativity in event conceptualisation and execution.
  • A degree in Event Management or a related field is preferred.

  • This position operates on a contract basis per event.
  • Each event planning and execution cycle typically spans 12 weeks
  • You will have an executive assistant to help complete administrative tasks
  • Renumeration negotiable depending experience
