Food & Drinks

Do you sell food at the event?

Yes, there will be food available to purchase at Midcoast 2024 as Open Roads Rally will be catering at this event. Food packs will be available pre order only via our website there will be no food available to purchase on site.

Do you have any kitchen facilities?

There are no kitchen facilities available on site to the public.

Should I bring snacks?

Yes absolutely. Please bring as much food as you need while you are riding. Fuel your body and bring extra (we recommend energy gels) in case of an emergency.

Do you have drinking water?

Drinking water is free and available on-site from several taps. We will also have bottled water for sale.


Will you be selling alcohol?

Yep! We love a good frothy after a hard day's ride.


What alcohol will you be selling?

We sell a range of beers, cider, spirits and soft-drink.


Can I bring my own alcohol?

No this event is not BYO! In saying this, we price our drinks very affordably (usually the same or cheaper than the shops due to buying in bulk/sponsorship) and all proceeds go back into building our events.  So don't stress too much and just drink with us!


What time does the bar open?

Our bar opens at 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

On-Site Concerns

Do I bring cash or card for purchases?

Both cash and card are available at this event. However, we prefer cash.

I have lost something! What do I do?

See if anyone on Discord found the lost item or share info on the lost item there. You can visit us at our information tent too.

I have found something! What do I do?

Please list found item on Discord so it can be returned to the owner. You may bring it to the information tent to store.

Can I get photos from the event?

Yes! They are usually free depending on the Photographer. You may find this in our Facebook page.

I want to get a high resolution/better photo.

You can contact the photographer directly for higher res/quality photos.

I forgot to claim my T-shirt during the event. Can I still claim it after or have it shipped?

You can pick up unclaimed shirts at the next event. But please note, we can't guarantee the availability of your T-shirt because things may get lost between transit to and from events. We don't ship items directly due to limited staff availability.

Are there any guidelines or restrictions on using drones or other recording devices?

Absolutely, flying drones in forested areas comes with specific restrictions. Comprehensive guidelines can be accessed at Broadford. Conducting your own research is advisable.

On-Site Facilities

On-Site Accommodation

There are camping passes available for $45 each for the weekend. If you are coming from interstate or long distance we have available camping passes for $15 each on a Thursday and Monday. You will get a tag that you need to put on your vehicle. Camping is included in the cost of each ticket and you can purchase it for the Friday night separately. There are no on-site cabins or bunks available at this site. You cannot reserve a camping site. We've secured a prime camping spot specifically reserved for guests arriving on motorcycles. Caravans are welcome but there is no power available. There are power limited powered sites available for an additional cost. There was a lot of flat ground at this event site.

Off-Site Accommodation

There are several options in town. If you plan to stay in town, you have the option to leave your motorcycles overnight at Stroud. However, please note that we do not provide security. Unfortunately, this means there's no guaranteed way to keep your motorcycles secure without your presence.

Are there toilets available?

Yes there are plenty of toilets available on-site. However, there are no toilets on the tracks.

Are there showers available?

Yes there are showers available on-site, as well as portable camp showers as backup if the lines are long.

Motorcycle License Requirements

Do I need a motorcycle license?

To access any of the trails or participate in trail riding activities like the navigation challenge or the GPX challenge, you will need to have your motorcycle license. There is no on-sight riding in this event. This event takes participants on tracks in national parks and forest. Children will also need a temporary event license, and we're finalizing the associated cost, which will be announced soon. Additionally, those who are interested in racing events must hold an MA race license and they may also participate in all on-site activities, whether competitive or recreational.

Can I ride an unregistered bike?

For the trail riding, you must have a fully registered motorcycle in New South Wales there is no recreational registration so it must be fully registered. And for Kenny rides we are investigating options for a temporary rally registration in New South Wales. We will post more information shortly.

Can I bring multiple motorcycles?

You can bring only 1 motorcycle to do the activities or trails.

Could you clarify when the MA license is necessary?

You don't need a MA license at this event. You only need your full motorcycle license.

Roads For the Event

Will your trails be on private property at this event?

No, all trails will be on forest or national park trails and gives it a gazetted roads..


How the event works?

Rules specific for the event.

This event is purely focused on riding in forests with a roadbook. There are no additional activities in this event. The rules are as follows: the more checkpoints that you find on the routes, the more points that you acquire, and the more chances of winning that you have.

Training

We will host adventure training on the weekend. Enduro training hosted throughout the weekend by All In Dirt Bike Adventures. Learn basic dirt bike skills, and get tips on setting up your bike and improving your riding techniques.

Entry Requirements

Is Recreational Reg Okay?

No, it is not okay for this event. In New South Wales they do not acknowledge recreational registration. You must have full motorcycle registration and we are also investigating other avenues such as a temporary registration for rally vehicles. We will have more information shortly.

Recognitions/Challenges

Will there be awards or recognition for participants completing the rally?

We are not a competition however, we do hold a lucky draw for the winner. We have different prizes for the different tracks. As you ride the tracks, you'll come across checkpoints. The more checkpoints you find, the more points you collect. The higher your points, more chances of winning.

Is it safe for kids to ride and/or spectate?

No, there is no opportunity for kids to ride at this event. However, kids may spectate with a family member.
